Conditional
Quite a bit more boardwipes than usual. Although most of them have clauses, some are more conditional than others.
Bounce
Effects that return cards to their owners hand.
No real blue bounce spell at common, although there is a Griptide variant.
Counterspells
Effects that can counter your spells.

Discard
Effects that can force you discard cards from your hand.

Disenchant
Effects that destroy artifacts or enchantments.

Mechanic: Blitz
Blitz is an alternate cost that allows you to cast a creature with haste, but it is sacrificed on end step. However, when the creature dies, you draw a card. It synergizes well with the Casualty payoffs listed below.

Casualty is a mechanic that allows you to copy a spell by sacrificing a creature with power greater than or equal to the Casualty cost.

Shield counters are removed from a creature when it is dealt damage or would be destroyed instead.
